It begins.

I don't cook. I've always been terrible.
But. Here's the truth.
Ready?

I can do anything I put my mind to.

Haha, cliche right? But really. I am one determined little freak. Watch me fail at something, work my butt off, and then own it. I possess the seemingly contradictory talents of having an unhealthy number of self-doubts and low self-esteem but also an excessive amount of self-confidence and determination. I am a fast learner and will persevere. With enough hard work and time I can accomplish anything. I knew that I couldn't cook when I moved here but that didn't stop me! I wasn't going to let that get in my way! I would just learn to cook.
And here I go!

Lunch!

Easy Bruschetta

Ingredients
     4 slice stale bread
     2 small tomatoes
     1/4 cup olive oil
     1/4 tsp salt
     1/8 tsp pepper
     1 tbsp olive oil
     1/4 tsp garlic powder
     1/2 tsp dried basil
Procedure
Combine the 1/4 olive oil, salt and pepper in a small bowl.  Brush onto both sides of the bread. Bake in toaster oven till both sides are very lightly toasted.
Meanwhile, coarsely chop tomatoes.  Mix in 1 tbsp olive oil, garlic and basil.  Let marinade.
When bread is finished toasting, let cool for three minutes. Spread with tomato mixture and your bruschetta is ready.

This recipe looks easy enough and somewhat yummy. I just wanted to use up this bread before it went bad or something {bread does go bad right? Yeah. I'm pretty sure..}. I went to the Wyview Creamery to pick up tomatoes {because even though I am really not a fan of tomatoes, I wanted to try something new and follow the recipe} but apparently this Creamery sucks. Really bad. And didn't have tomatoes. Or vegetables. Or fruit. Or much of anything. So I made oily bread basically, haha.

We must look at the bright side though. That being that I neither burned nor ruined anything! And, it actually tasted decent, haha.

I consider that a success. :)
Finished product. :)
