From one stranger to another.

Even though I don't usually say things to make people happy, I mean I would never lie to someone just to make them feel good, whenever I do it makes me really happy. Heck, when I compliment people it's because I think they ought to know. If it were me I'd want to know! So I have a tendency to just randomly send people texts or messages with long {I mean, really long} compliments and stuff. Twice this week I have done such a thing. I'm certainly not putting this up so you can see "how nice I am" {though I do want my Mommy to see that I'm not mean}, I want you to pay attention to their responses!!! Look how nice they were to me! Weren't they sweet? :)

Her name is Allie. And I guess we went to high school together. She was maybe a sophomore when I was a senior but I never actually knew her {like half my friends on fb}. But during the facebook purging I did after graduating I kept her for her statuses. Seriously. Look at the kind of stuff she says.

"To all the girls having sex right now, what are you going to give your husband now when you get married?"
"Toooooo many kids are having kids these days. Wrap it up."
"When girls have like allll of their bra hanging out in their pictures <<<<< It's not cute. It's really trashy. You'll get more respect if you cover up."

So I messaged her. Cuz that's what I do.
Here's what I saw on the newsfeed moments later, with the caption "thank you for making my week, haha. :))"
She also responded to my message:
"Hey oh my gosh, it's all good! I love talking to new people, I have no problem with is :) and awh, thank you so much! It means a lot to me! And no problem :) I'm trying to be more of a Christian you know? :pLol. But it means a lot that you messaged me and said that, really! :)You are gorgeous too by the way!"

There's this kid, Jake, that is one of Alex's best friends. I met him in October or so and am absolutely obsessed with this kid. He's AMAZING. He has all my respect in the world and then some. The other night the three of us hung out and he and Alex had this super deep discussion. I was kind of blown away so I sat quietly. When I got home I sent him this message:
"Hey Jake. :)
It was really nice hanging out with you guys last night, thank you so much for having me over. I really appreciate how welcome you always make me feel. You're so nice to me!
You know, when Alex and I first started getting to know each other he would occasionally talk about this friend of his, Jake, a guy who had really influenced his life, one of the best friends he could ever ask for. He told me the story of how your friendship fell apart and then came back together. He talked about what a loyal and good person you are. It's funny to me that he only mentioned having a bro-mance with you yesterday when it was clear to me from the start, haha. I guess I never understood completely what he was talking about until I actually met you. I was very impressed with you right off the bat, but lemme tell ya, last night was the kicker.
I have so much respect for you, Jake. You are an incredible, inspiring person. I'm sorry if this is repetitive, I'm sure you hear things like this a lot, but you are an amazingly good and unique person with such depth and kindness to you. You have such a good heart and I am so grateful that you are in Alex's life so that you can be in mine. Thank you for being a stellar friend to Alex. If you hadn't been around he might not be the person he is today and then where would I be? Thank you for being so kind to me every time I'm around. And thank you for opening up to Alex in front of me last night. Not only did I feel accepted with that one simple act, but you really opened my eyes to some important things. You're a very insightful person and I admire that very much. A lot of the things you were saying hit home for me. Even though I have a tendency to scoff at the antics of so called "Utah Mormons", I will never, ever, look at you that way. You've impressed me a lot, Jake, and I have a ton of respect for you. I may not have known you long but you have impacted me in an unforgettable way nonetheless. Thanks for everything and just being who you are.
Mackenzie"
And the sweet thing said this back.
"Have you got the right Jake?? HahaI can't even tell you how much I appreciate that! That's seriously one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me and you know what? I couldn't be happier that what we said impacted you positively. The fact that you were able to garner so much good out of that at times dark conversation speaks volumes on your character. That was one of the sincerest compliments I've ever received. Again I can't thank you enough that was really uplifting :) As far as people go you're the best kind! Seriously you're an awesome person! I don't even know what to say to thank you to do it justice! It meant a lot to me and you've a gift for making people feel great about themselves haha."
It's messages to me like this that make me absolutely beam. :)
